Kazakhstan participates in ICECS 35th session

ASTANA. June 18. KAZINFORM A 35th session of the Islamic Commission for Economic, Cultural and Social Affairs (ICECS) started in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

The Kazakh delegation headed by Kazakh Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Kairat Sarybay will submit for approval of the Commission a number of important initiatives such as establishment of the Food Aid Fund of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) for the countries of Central Asia, Afghanistan and Iran with the headquarters in Astana.

In addition, Kazakhstan intends to hand over the chairmanship in ICECS to Djibouti.

On the sidelines of the 35th session the Kazakh delegation is expected to meet with OIC Secretary General Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu and President of the Eurasian Development Bank Ahmad Mohamed Ali.
