1 killed, 4 injured in car pile-up in Almaty region

The road accident occurred on the Almaty-Raimbek motorway on Tuesday (January 27). A Mercedes Benz 609D van crashed into a Mercedes Benz car and grazed Volkswagen Passat and Mitsubishi Galant vehicles. According to reports, 1 man died at the scene, 4 more were rushed to a nearby hospital in Uzynagash village. The police say it is the Mercedes Benz 609D driver who is to blame for the horrific accident. He lost control of the vehicle, crossed into the oncoming lane and, as a result, collided with three cars. An investigation is underway.
