10 tourism projects worth KZT34.4 bln underway in Turkistan region

Turkistan region develops three key tourism directions, namely, ecological, health and heritage tourism, governor Darkhan Satybaldy told the press conference, Kazinform News Agency reports.

He said the number of visitors to the designated natural areas doubled to 123,100. There are 99 tourism sites with 62 hotels and 12 sanatoriums available. 30 eco-trails were built.

There are also 72 health and recreational centers in the region. 142 people visited them which is 21% more than the year before. Three more centers will be commissioned this year.

The number of one-day heritage tourists rose to 868,000. There are 2,500 tourism beds available at 58 accommodation establishments in the city of Turkistan. Five more hotels are being constructed.

He said 10 projects worth 34.4 billion tenge are being developed in the region to provide tourist sites with the necessary infrastructure.
