The tournament, held in the capital of Saudi Arabia, entered the Guinness Book of Records as the largest competition in terms of the number of participating countries, attended by 143 pilots from more than 50 countries.

The young athlete’s performance placed him in the global top 16. “We trained hard. There were two days of qualifying flights, as a result of which 64 racers reached the championship itself. Timofey ended up in a group with world champions,” said his father and coach, Sergei Muravyov.

On the way to the quarterfinals, the young pilot of the NSP KazGeoScan team met with the strongest rivals, including the current world champion Yuki Hashimoto from Japan. In the race with the USA MultiGP champion Pawel Laszczak, Timofey lost only 1.3 seconds, completing three laps in 00:58:020.

Previously, Timofey has repeatedly won national and international championships. His success, according to his father, is due to constant training: “To be in good shape, you need to constantly compete and understand what your level is.”

Now, he plans to begin preparing for the Kazakhstan championship, which will be held this year in Almaty.

Earlier, Kazinform reported another historic achievement as Kazakhstani wrestler Ersin Baltagul, known as Kinbozan Haruki, secured third place at the Emperor's Cup in sumo in Tokyo.
