12 bodies recovered as plane crashes in Pakistan
ISLAMABAD. November 5. KAZINFORM Officials with Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) of Pakistan said that 12 bodies have been recovered as a plane crashed early Friday morning near the Jinnah International Airport of Karachi in southern Pakistan, Kazinform refers to Xinhua.
According to local media, the tragedy took place at about 07:00 a.m. (local time) Friday when a private plane owned by a local air company named JS Air crashed right after it took off from the Karachi airport. The ill-fated plane is said to be chartered by a U.S. oil company in the country.
Well-informed sources said that at present only one U.S. oil company, namely Union Texas Petroleum (UTP), is operating in Pakistan.
Local civil aviation officials confirmed that there were altogether 21 people including two crew member on board. They fear no survivors in the plane crash.
Engine failure is the cause of the plane crash, said a CAA spokesman, Kazinform cites Xinhua. See www.xinhuanet.com
