12,000 visit Astana Opera’s The Nutcracker performance in Dubai
Astana Opera's ballet troupe staged Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker choreography by ballet master Yuri Grigorovich in Dubai, UAE, Kazinform News Agency cites the press service of the Ministry of Culture and Information of Kazakhstan.
The performance, held with the assistance of the Kazakh Culture and Information Ministry, wraps up Astana Opera's foreign tour of this year.
Yuri Grigorovich was assisted by Ruslan Pronin and Oksana Tsvetnitskaya in staging the play, accompanied by the Theatre’s Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Italian Maestro Giuseppe Acquaviva.
To note, after the tremendous success of last year’s performance, Dubai Opera once again invited the Kazakh ballet company headed by artistic director of the Astana Opera Ballet, world ballet star Altynai Assylmuratova.
It’s encouraging that Astana Opera once again stages The Nutcracker ballet at Dubai Opera. Last year was a great success, and taking into account the troupe’s brilliant performance, we invited them again. We’re glad to see this brilliant play and talented artists, said Dubai Opera director Paolo Petrocelli.
It’s worth noting that Astana Opera’s first performance of The Nutcracker play ended up as a huge success on December 19. The troupe is to stage six more performances as part of its tour, with sold-out engagement expected.
Earlier it was reported that the Astana Opera Ballet and Symphony Orchestra are once again going on tour to Dubai to present Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker.
