129 facilities with use of renewable energy sources to be built in Almaty region

TALDYKORGAN. KAZINFORM - Chaired by deputy governor of Almaty region Serik Turdaliyev, a visiting meeting of the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan was held in Taldykorgan. The purpose of the meeting was to monitor the implementation of the projects with the use of renewable energy sources in Almaty region.

Director of the department for renewable energy sources of the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan Ainur Saparbekov, representatives of already operating renewable energy facilities and general contractors of the facilities under construction, which are planned to be built in the period from 2015 through 2020, took part in the meeting.

"The program on development of hydro and wind power planned for 2006-2020 is being implemented in Almaty region. Such projects as construction of the Moinak Hydro-electric power station, 8 small hydro-power stations, 1 solar power station with the total capacity of 324.3 MW have been implemented in the region since 2008," the statement released by the press service of the governor of the region reads.

Within the framework of the program, 58 companies plan to implement their projects on construction of 129 facilities with the use of the renewable energy sources by 2020. Besides, 13 investor-companies of the region would like to co-finance the projects of renewable energy sources.

Thus, Almaty region plans to contribute to development of the green economy working in the sphere of renewable energy sources.
