13 killed in NW Pakistan due to torrential rains

ISLAMABAD. August 17. KAZINFORM At least 13 people were killed on the outskirts of the northwestern Pakistani district of Mardan due to torrential rains and flood, according to local TV reports on Sunday; Kazinform refers to Xinhua.

Officials said a number of houses were damaged and collapsed in Galyara areas of Mardan and Adeena Ismaila and Kalu Khan areas of Swabi districts in the North West Frontier Province due to torrential rains and high flood.

The rains also damaged the standing crops and a large number of cattle-heads were killed. Swabi-Mardan road is closed for traffic; Kazinform cites Xinhua.
