16.3mln sq m of housing commissioned in Kazakhstan

Construction shows positive dynamics across regions of Kazakhstan, Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of National Economy Nurlan Baibazarov said during a government session Tuesday, Kazinform News Agency correspondent reports.

The construction sector’s growth has accelerated to 10.3% thanks to realization of four major initiatives of the Head of State regarding housing, transport and social infrastructure construction as well as engineering network modernization, said the Kazakh minister.

According to Baibazarov, positive dynamics have been recorded in 18 regions, with the highest growth in building and construction works reported in Kyzylorda, Karaganda, Turkestan and Zhetysu regions. However, construction activity declined in Atyrau and Mangistau regions.

In January-November this year, 16.3 million square meters of housing were commissioned, increasing by 8.3% compared to last year. Shymkent city as well as Pavlodar, Turkestan, Kyzylorda, Ulytau regions observed the highest housing commissioning rates, added Baibazarov.

Earlier, Baibazarov said that in January-November 2024, Kazakhstan’s economic growth was estimated at 4.4%.
