169 accidents took place countrywide on New Year holidays

ASTANA. January 5. KAZINFORM. 969 crimes have been committed from December 31, 2008 to January 4, 2009 in the country, 721 of which have been solved, Kazinform has learnt from the press service of the Kazakh Emergency Ministry.

In particular: the law-enforcement bodies have registered 48 murders (36 out of them have been solved); robbery ? 8 (4 solved), burglary ? 84 (60 solved), theft ? 340 (200 solved) and crimes connected with drugs ? 200 (37 solved). Besides, 169 road accidents took place these days following which 31 people died and 215 were injured.
