18 suspects of Xinjiang fatal terror attack surrender to police

URUMQI. KAZINFORM - A total of 18 suspects of a fatal terror attack in Shache County, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, have surrendered to police, the regional government said here Sunday.

The suspects have turned themselves in under tense pressure from the public, the regional publicity department said.

The attack on July 28 in southern Xinjiang left 37 civilians dead and another 13 injured. Police shot dead 59 terrorists and arrested 215 others, Xinhua reported.

Out of the 31 vehicles smashed in the violent attack, 6 were burned.
