19 people, who agitated Zhanaozen residents to hold meetings and not to work, detained - Minister

ASTANA. December 20. KAZINFORM /Kanat Kulshmanov/ The law enfocement bodies have arrested 19 people, who agitated the residents of Zhanaozen town to hold meetings and not go to work. Minister of Internal Affairs Kalmukhanbet Kassymov has announced it at the Government's session.

"Yesterday there were arrested 19 people, who went to organizations and threatened those who were going to go to work, agitated to hold meetings," K.Kassymov said.

The Minister noted that according to law enforcement agencies, the detainees are implicated in crimes in Zhanaozen.

According to K.Kassymov, 15 people died in the riots in Mangystau region, 14 out of them - in Zhanaozen and 1 - in Shetpe village. 110 people were injured, 73 of them are at out-patient treatment. 41 persons have been subjected to administrative liability.
