20 tons of potentially hazardous carrots returned to Kazakhstan
ASTANA. KAZINFORM Inspectors of the Novosibirsk oblast department of the federal veterinary and phytosanitary monitoring service returned a large run of the imported vegetable produce of high pest risk without proper paperwork, its press service said.

The Kemerovo oblast -bound truck was carrying about 20 tons of carrot without a phytosanitary safety certificate that confirms that the goods have been inspected. As required by the quarantine law, the lot was returned to the sender in Kazakhstan in an attempt to prevent carrying and distribution of items of quarantine concern into Russia.
