2011-2012 winter period - most difficult in Kazakhstan

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - The most difficult winter period in Kazakhstan was registered in 2011-2012, representative of the Committee for Emergencies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan Ruslan Imankulov said.

"It is very difficult to tell which winter period was the most difficult because winter is different in such a big country as Kazakhstan. However, I still remember the winter of 2011, that winter was really difficult for rescuers. This winter has not topped the winter of 2011 in terms of rescue operations yet," he said during the briefing answering journalists' questions. He also specified that the winter of 2014-2015 is characterized by heavy precipitation, low temperatures, blizzards, etc. However, it is still a better period for rescuers that the winter of 2011. "Nevertheless, the rescuers have problems of all sorts any winter, but they solve all of them," R. Imankulov.
