20th anniversary of independence reception held at the U.S. Embassy in Astana

ASTANA. December 13. KAZINFORM Last Friday the U.S. Embassy hosted a reception in honor of the 20th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Ambassador Fairfax congratulated Kazakhstan on 20 years of independence and enumerated the many highlights in the 20 years of bilateral relations between Kazakhstan and the United States, the press service of the US Diplomatic Mission to Kazakhstan reports.

Kazakhstani tenor Timur Bekbosunov, who collaborated with American composer Anne LeBaron in the creation of The Silent Steppe Cantata, performed excerpts from the cantata, accompanied by Counselor for Public Affairs Jeff Sexton, before more than 200 guests in the Embassy's atrium.
