20th anniversary of SCO Secretariat celebrated in Beijing

The Secretariat of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization organized a gala event on Thursday in Beijing to mark the 20th anniversary of its founding, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported, Kabar reports.

SCO Secretary General Zhang Ming, Member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, and Foreign Minister of the People's Republic of China Wang Yi took part in it and congratulated those present on the anniversary.

The event was attended by the leadership and representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China, heads of diplomatic missions of the SCO member states, permanent representatives of the SCO member states to the SCO Secretariat and other guests.

There was also a display of national costumes of the SCO countries, introducing the event participants to the material and spiritual culture of the peoples of the SCO member states.
