21 people died in Karaganda road accidents over six months
"According to the Department of Administrative Police, for 6 months of the current year 204 road accidents, in which 21 people died and 223 were injured, have been registered in the city. Compared to the same period of the last year, the number of accidents has increased by more than 15%", the statement reads. It was noted that the causes of road accidents are often the poor state of roads' surface, poor illumination of roadways and pedestrian crossings. The round table also discussed district police service development.
According to the city police department, for 6 months of 2014 road patrol police regiment officers have uncovered 459 crimes and revealed about 40 thousand administrative offenses. Operations Control Center of the Department of Internal Affairs have solved 42 crimes and revealed about 7 thousand administrative offenses. In the city of Karaganda the number of crimes decreased by 31.6%.
