23,000 to go to school in Almaty this September

ALMATY. KAZINFORM "23,500 children will go to school in Almaty September this year against 22,000 in 2013," head of the city education department Galina Samatokina said.

There are 190 schools in Almaty so far. It is planned to commission some new schools by the end of year to accommodate another 4,200 pupils. Construction of a 1,200-seat school with Kazakh as the language of instruction will be completed by September 1 in the Turksib district.
