29 movies shot with state support ready for release in 2024
29 feature films shot over the years with the State National Film Support Centre's support are ready to hit cinemas. Production of half of them was completed recently, the movies made earlier have not been released yet for various reasons, Kazinform News Agency reports.
According to Zhumagali Kurmanbek, the Chairman of the Board of the State National Film Support Center, films featuring national unity and ideology must be out in the open. He said the domestic films should be released and screened at festivals, on TV channels and on streaming platforms. There are films based on historical events, devoted to the anniversaries of outstanding people among those unreleased.
Another highlight is auteur films. For example, Bauyryna salu by Askhat Kuchinchirekov, Brothers by Darkhan Tulegenov, Krik by Kenzhebek Shaikakov, and Auyl by Srik Aprymov will go out in cinemas next year.
He stressed that 29 projects will be released in 2024. The goal of the centre is to make national cinema open to all.
