29-year-old Kazakh national appointed as Apple's Central Asia + Armenia public policy head
29-year-old Kazakhstani Adilkhan Kopabayev has been appointed Head of Public Policy and Government Affairs for Central Asia +Armenia at Apple Inc., Kazinform News Agency reports.
“I’m happy to announce that I have joined Apple Inc. as the Head of Apple’s Public Policy and Government Affairs for Central Asia +Armenia,” he posted on Instagram.
Adilkhan Kopabayev is a native of Aktobe. He was born on July 9, 1995.
From 2013 to 2017, he studied at the Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology in South Korea majoring in “Urban Engineer and Technology Management,” being awarded prestigious UNIST Global Uni-Star scholarship. In 2022, Kopabayev obtained Master of Public Administration degree from Brown University in Providence, the U.S. under the Rockefeller Foundation Scholarship program.
He began his career in 2014 as a chief of KazAlliance NGO branch in Seoul, South Korea. From 2016 to 2018, he worked as a senior business analyst at ICON international consulting organization. In 2018-2019, he was an advisor to the Minister of Labor and Social Protection of Kazakhstan. In 2019, he was appointed chief economist of the National Bank of Kazakhstan. In November 2019, he started working for the Kazakh Prime Minister’s Office (Project Office of the Government of Kazakhstan).
From 2021 to 2023, he was the Director General of PepChat in Boston, the U.S. In June 2023, he was appointed Director General of JSC Information-Analytical Center for Oil and Gas of the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan. Later, in July 2024, he was named the Chairman of the Board of Situation-Analytical Center of the Fuel and Energy Complex of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Since February 2024, Kopabayev has been a member of the Presidential Youth Policy Council.
Earlier, it was reported that Nurkhat Kushimov had been appointed the General Manager of Binance Kazakhstan by the Astana Financial Services Authority (AFSA)
