3 injured in 11-vehicle pile-up

ALMATY. KAZINFORM "3 people were injured today in a road traffic accident involving 11 vehicles in Almaty, " press secretary of the city internal affairs department Saltanat Azirbek said.

Garbage collector driver lost control and smashed into the back of the vehicle ahead prompting a chain reaction crash. Mitsubishi driver and his wife were taken to hospital. One more was provided first medical aid and sent home.

One of the preliminary causes of the pile-up is a brake failure. Accident investigation is underway.
