3 major Kazakhstani oilfields to reduce oil production by 56%
Oil production at the major oilfields of Kazakhstan has decreased due to weather conditions and restricted crude oil intake in the Caspian Pipeline Consortium, Shyngys Ilyassov, advisor to the Kazakh Energy Minister said, Kazinform News Agency reports.
Tengizchevroil, Karachaganak Petroleum Operating, and North Caspian Operating Company on November 28 have reduced their daily oil production from 172 thousand tons to 106 thousand tons (30-40% reduction).
The companies are to reduce the figure to 76 thousand tons or by 56% on November 29.
Notably, yesterday the Caspian Pipeline Consortium halted oil shipment at its marine terminal due to weather conditions.
The country’s energy ministry has no data on when the situation normalizes, saying the production reduction and adjustment are to remain at the current level in the foreseeable future.
