32 people die at Bangladeshi hospital within 24 hours
DHAKA. KAZINFORM - A total of 32 people, including 10 children and newborns, died within about 24 hours through 8 a.m. Tuesday at the MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital in Sylhet, Bangladesh, hospital sources said.
The patients at the public hospital apparently died from various causes, such as illnesses and road accidents, according to the sources. Relatives of the deceased have alleged that the babies died due to wrong treatment and the hospital's negligence. But Abdus Salam, deputy director of the hospital, said the children died because of breathing problems, complexities during delivery and pneumonia. Meanwhile, the government formed a three-member probe committee to investigate the incidents and asked it to submit a report in three working days. Source: Kyodo
