33 Kazakhstanis stay in Syria
According to the Kazakh Foreign Ministry, 33 citizens of Kazakhstan are still staying in Syria, Kazinform News Agency cites Jibek Joly.
Most of them are Kazakhstani women married to Syrian nationals and have children.
When the revolution began in the country the Kazakh consul contacted them to ask whether they wanted to return home. Those who wanted to return have already arrived in Kazakhstan. The diplomats keep in touch with those staying there, the Kazakh Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
As earlier reported, the new administration called on Syrians to return home, however, international organizations warn that the situation in the country remains serious.
According to a number of media outlets, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad left Damascus and went in an unknown direction after the advance of anti-government forces.
