39% of disabled people in Kazakhstan are employed - ministry
148,000 people with disabilities in Kazakhstan or 39% are employed, Kazinform News Agency reports citing Svetlana Zhakupova, the Minister of Labour and Social Protection, as saying at the Government’s meeting today.
As the minister noted, employment level in the region does not reach 50%. Most disabled people are working in research sector – 28%, public administration – 12%, education – 9%, trade – 9% and healthcare – 7%.
21% of the people with disabilities are employed as highly skilled professionals, 19% are unqualified workers, 13% are technical specialists, and 11% are managers and public servants, workers of services and sales sector.
