390,000 babies born in Kazakhstan in 2023

390,000 newborns came into this world in Kazakhstan in 2023, Kazinform News Agency has learnt from the press service of the Ministry of Healthcare of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Some 400 pregnant women were monitored by Kazakhstani doctors last year.

Last year, Kazakhstani health workers saved lives of over 1,000 expecting moms who were in critical condition.

Moreover, 21 expecting moms underwent urgent surgeries for various reasons. 190 pregnant women were airlifted to regional and republican hospitals.

The ministry also revealed that for the first time in Kazakhstan’s history the country managed to reduce maternal mortality ratio by 32 per cent.

Over 2,000 doctors and 3,000 maternity obstetric service workers were trained in Kazakhstan last year. on top of that, 94 and 50 doctors underwent training in Istanbul (Türkiye) and Saint-Petersburg (Russia), respectively.
