At today’s weekly meeting of the Cabinet, Minister of Labour and Social Protection Svetlana Zhakupova spoke about resettlement of citizens from labour-surplus to labour shortage regions, Kazinform News Agency reports.

According to her, the new migration policy concept offers another mechanism of resettlement of citizens from labour-surplus to labour-shortage regions.

“The in-migrants are issued economic mobility certificates entitling them to apply for a financial support. In case if in-migrants are employed and their employment is confirmed by employers, the government will cover up to 50% of housing cost in the new region,” the Minister said.

“73% of employable in-migrants or 5,200 people were paid lump-sum financial assistance to cover travel expenses. 622 families received economic mobility certificates, and 395 families were provided with housing in northern regions,” Svetlana Zhakupova said.
