40 bln tenge allocated for sowing campaign

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - KZT 40 billion loan proceeds have been allocated for sowing campaign, this was announced by Agriculture Minister Asylzhan Mamytbekov.

According to the Ministry crop planting will cover an area of 21.8 million hectares, which is 1.5 % more than in 2013. Crop plantings will include cereal crops 15.9 million hectares, oilseeds - 2 million hectares, fodder cereals - 3.4 million hectares, melons and potatoes - 410 thousand hectares. Today the provision of seeds for spring sowing is 99.3%. Seeds deficit is expected to reach 16,900 tons in the regions affected by drought last year - Aktobe and West Kazakhstan.
