50 vehicles stuck in snow rescued in Kazakhstan’s Abai region

Nearly 50 cars, including passenger buses, stuck in the snow on the roads in Abai region were evacuated, Kazinform News Agency reports.

Snowstorms are raging in the region for the second day in a row. Road services switched to day-and-night shifts.

None of the passengers or drivers were injured since rescuers arrived in time.

Authorities urge drivers to avoid traveling amid bad weather conditions and closely monitor weather warnings.

Over 100 vehicles also trapped in the snow were rescued in East Kazakhstan.

Previously Kazinform reported that heavy snowstorms and gusting wind paralyzed the Kazakh capital on January 21.
