5th Astana Economic Forum to send an Open Letter to the G-20

ASTANA. May 17. KAZINFORM On May 22nd-24th in Astana, the 5th Astana Economic Forum (AEF) will take place. This year's Forum is dedicated to the challenges and prospects of world economic development in terms of global transformation.

One of the important events of the Forum will be 'The Dialogue of Leaders: New Financial & Economic Policy', where prominent figures from economy, business, politics and media will discuss the issues of global development, Kazakhstanlive.com reported.  
Among other events taking place is the Conference of Finance Ministers of CIS countries, as well as a Conference called 'Existential Crisis of the International Financial Architecture', which will focus on countering regional recessions, as well as development of new mechanisms of financial and economic stability. In total, the agenda of the Forum consists of 35 sessions of different formats with the participation of more than 5000 delegates from 80 countries.
The President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, the President of the Republic of Ecuador, the Prime Ministers of the Kingdom of Bahrain, Qatar, 6 former heads of state, 6 former prime ministers (including the UK's Tony Blair and Italy's Romano Prodi), 25 current and former ministers and 40 heads of trans-national corporations and businesses, 12 Nobel prize winners (including John Nash and Robert Mundell) will participate.
An Open Letter to the G-20 countries with recommendations for improvement and development of the world economy will be the main outcome of the Forum, and will be sent to the Organizing Committees of G-8 and G-20, the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank, the United Nations and the Organization for Economic Cooperation & Development.
