6.5 tons of food destroyed in Atyrau

ATYRAU. October 30. KAZINFORM - In Atyrau 6.5 tons of expired food have been destroyed. Products that have expired the prosecutors found in one of the largest wholesalers supplying products to local supermarkets. They are mainly dairy, meat and meat products, and cheeses.

According to the chief city prosecutor Nurjan Zhangereev, the products which are not subject to sale, were stored together with those that have not expired.

This allowed the prosecutors to make the assumption that the food was free to be taken to the supermarkets. It was decided to destroy it at the city landfill for waste storage. In the presence of the commission all expired goods were dumped in a specially prepared pit and covered with earth.
