6.8 mln sq m of housing commissioned in Kazakhstan in 2008
ASTANA. January 23. KAZINFORM /Bauyrzhan Mukanov/ 6.8 mln sq m of accommodation were put into commission within the State housing construction program in Kazakhstan in 2008. This is 102.7% against 2007, Serik Nokin, Chairman of the Committee on construction and housing utilities of the Ministry of Industry and Trade has informed at the sitting of the board today, Kazinform reports.
?In 2008 the rates of construction lowered to 92% because of the impact of the global financial crisis. Due to the Government?s measures the number of shared construction projects has grown?, S. Nokin said.
Alongside, S. Nokin noted, commissioning the projects of individual housing construction lagged behind. 3.5 mln sq m of individual housing (92% against 2007) were put into operation in 2008.
