6 successful kidney transplants performed in 2 months in Shymkent

Six successful kidney transplants were performed in city clinical hospital #1 of Shymkent city, Kazinform Agency learnt from the governor’s press service.

Transplant surgery requires high surgical experience and advanced technology and gives people living with kidney failure a chance to survive. The surgery is performed free of charge.

The most complicated operation was made on October 18. A critically ill 39-year-old received a healthy kidney from a donor, a close relative. The condition of the donor and recipient has improved. The latter was transferred to the floor, it said in a statement.
