6 thousand tons of hard drugs seized in Kazakhstan over 5 years - Nazarbayev
LISBON. November 20. KAZINFORM /Dimash Syzdykov/ Only in the last five years 6,000 tons of hard drugs were seized and destroyed in Kazakhstan. President Nursultan Nazarbayev made it public at the NATO Summit in Lisbon on Saturday.
"In recent years we have witnessed a growing drug threat and drug production in Afghanistan. Most of them are in transit through Central Asia", the Kazakh President said.
Mr. Nazarbayev expressed regret International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan almost did not participate in the fight against drug trafficking, which threatens millions of citizens in other countries.
"It is important to establish a coordinated interaction between international organizations and with the Afghan Government in this important field", N. Nazarbayev stressed.
