608,000 administered measles vaccine in Kazakhstan
Over 608,000 out of 1.8 million people or 40.5% eligible for a vaccination against measles received the vaccine as part of the additional mass vaccination roll-out. Some 30,000 are vaccinated daily, Kazinform News Agency cites the sanitary and epidemiological control committee of the Kazakh Healthcare Ministry.
Some 700,000 children aged 1-6 years old are vaccinated against measles in Kazakhstan annually.
Besides, 133,300 people were given measles vaccines as part of the catchup vaccination.
Mangistau, Almaty, Aktobe, Zhambyl, Turkistan, Abai, and Ulytau regions reported an increase in children’s measles vaccination coverage.
