62 charity projects receive Qazaqstan Khalkyna Foundation funding

In three years, Qazaqstan Khalkyna Foundation has launched 104 charity programs and projects, completing 62 of them, the Foundation’s Chairman Bolat Zhamishev said, Kazinform News Agency correspondent reports.

According to Zhamishev, Qazaqstan Khalkyna Foundation has raised 252 billion tenge, of which 186.5 billion tenge went to charity, including 96.6 billion tenge in 2024, since the inception three years ago.

In 2023, Kazakhstan National Welfare Fund Samruk Kazyna transferred 50 billion tenge to the Qazaqstan Khalkyna Foundation following its annual commitment of at least 7% of its net revenue. The funds will be primarily used to implement measures of the 2023/27 comprehensive plan to combat oncological diseases in Kazakhstan and purchase of pharmaceuticals in 2025 in accordance with the approved plan to provide citizens with orphan diseases with pharmaceuticals, said Zhamishev.

Last year, Satti Zhuldyz lottery operator contributed 1.4 billion tenge to the Foundation under Article 14 of Kazakhstan’s Lottery and Lottery Activities Law.

As Zhamishev said, Qazaqstan Khalkyna Foundation exercises strict mechanisms to control implementation of charity projects and that funds are spent in a transparent, accountable manner to ensure their efficient use and help those in need.

According to Zhamishev, the efficient use of the Foundation’s funds is confirmed by an annual external audit conducted by one of the Big Four accounting firms - Ernst&Young. The Foundation braces for an external audit following 2024.

Earlier it was reported that Tajikistan plans to establish a Road Fund to pay for the building and maintenance of the country’s road network.
