7 dead after vehicle overturns in ditch in Karaganda rgn
Seven people, including two children, were killed after a minivan careered off the road to end up flipped in a ditch on Almaty-Yekaterinburg road in Karaganda region, Kazinform News Agency cites the press service of the police department of Karaganda region.
According to the preliminary information, a driver of the Toyota Alphard mini-van lost control after hitting black ice and veered off course, ending up in the ditch on Almaty-Yekaterinburg road 2km away from Kurminka village at 10:00am on November 15.
As a result of the accident, the driver and six passengers, including two children died on the spot. A 12-year-old passenger was rushed to a hospital.
A criminal investigation has been launched into the accident, the police department informed.
The Karaganda regional police department urges derivers to keep vigilance, follow the traffic rules as well as the speed limit.
