7 killed in highway bus accident near Tokyo

MAEBASHI. April 29. KAZINFORM At least seven people were killed and about 40 others were injured in a highway bus accident early Sunday in Gunma Prefecture, northwest of Tokyo, police said.

The bus, which was carrying holidaymakers headed to Tokyo Disneyland, crashed into a roadside wall in the 4:40 a.m. accident on the Kanetsu Expressway in the city of Fujioka, the police and the operator said, Kyodo reports.

The bus was headed for Tokyo after leaving Kanazawa at 10 p.m. Saturday, the first day of Japan's so-called Golden Week spring holiday season.
