737 million fine for soil contamination
ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Specialized environmental prosecutor's office of Aktobe region has revealed the fact of soil pollution by "CNPC Aktobemunaigas", the press service of the Prosecutor's office informs.
In particular, in 2013 produced water of this corporation was dumped on the municipal - state enterprise "Kenkiyak" and according to the analysis of water and soil samples, there was revealed significant excess of maximum permissible concentrations of oil products. According to experts' data, total oil contaminated soil is 44,725 tons. Upon the review of the Environmental Department of the Prosecutor's Office, "CNPC Aktobemunaigas" was fined on more than 737 million tenge. Kazakhstan got fully recoverable amount of the fine.
