8,000 Russians found jobs in Kazakhstan since EEU establishment

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Kazakhstan does not expect large inflow of workers from Russia and Belarus with the establishment of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), Minister of Healthcare and Social Development Tamara Duissenova said at a press conference on Friday.

"Within the framework of the EEU, we've opened our borders to foreign workers. To date, nearly 8,000 citizens of the Russian Federation have found jobs in Kazakhstan. As for Belarus, there are approximately 600 citizens of Belarus employed by local companies. We do not expect large inflow of workers from Belarus and Russia in the future," Minister Duissenova noted. In her words, inflow of workers from other EEU member states will be relatively small as well.
