KHOST, Afghanistan. March 30. KAZINFORM Nine police were killed early Friday morning apparently by a suspected Taliban infiltrator in Yahya Khil district of Paktika province, spokesman for provincial administration Mukhlis Afghan said, according to Xinhua.

"I confirm that nine police were killed in Yahya Khil district in the wee hours of today possible at midnight, Afghan told Xinhua. All the victims are local police, he further said.

One suspected police has been arrested and two others have run away, Afghan added, saying investigation is underway and details would be make public after completion of investigation.

Meanwhile, Zabihullah Mujahid who claims to speak for the Taliban outfit in talks with media via telephone from unknown location emphasized that a Taliban loyalist infiltrated the police and killed nine policemen inside a checkpoint in Yahya Khil district at mid night and fled away.

Meanwhile, an official with the press department of Interior Ministry said that investigation is underway to find the fact behind the killings.
