ASTANA. KAZINFORM - From 1991 to January 1 the current year 259,159 families of repatriates, or 952,882 ethnic Kazakhs, accounting for 5.5% of the total country's population, have arrived in Kazakhstan.

Most of them - 61.5% came from Uzbekistan, 14.3% - from China, 9.3% - from Mongolia, 6.8% - from Turkmenistan, 4.6% - from Russia and 3.5% - from other countries, the press service of the Ministry of Health and Social Development informs. The largest number of repatriates has settled in South Kazakhstan region - 21.2%, in Almaty region - 16.3%, in Mangystau region - 13.0%, in Zhambyl region - 9.4% and in other regions - 40.1%. 55.6% of oralmans are the people of working age, 39.9% - children under 18, and 4.5% of them are pensioners.
