A.Kurishbayev took part in meeting of SCO Agriculture Ministers
According to A.Kurishbayev, the agreement signed among the governments of the SCO member states on June11, 2010 in Tashkent on cooperation in agriculture is a step forward to joint increase of the agricultural production level.
The Minister has said that within the agreements Kazakhstan together with the SCO member states hold joint activities on combating pests and plant diseases, especially dangerous animal diseases. Special working groups on joint border surveys are established.
The Kazakh Minister also informed partners of the current situation in Kazakhstan in the field of agriculture, in particular, in the cattle breeding, processing of agricultural products, etc. A.Kurishbayev told about the mechanism of the state support of agricultural producers and realization of big investment projects in the country.
According to the Minister, further development of the sector in the nearest five years is outlined in the Agro-Industrial Complex Development Program aimed at provision of food security in the country, increase in labor productivity export potential of the agrarian sector.
A.Kurishbayev also held a meeting with Minister of Agriculture of China Han Changfu. During the talks the sides agreed to establish a joint working group on construction of a grain terminal at the Kazakh-Chinese border as well as on deepening contacts in scientific researches on yield prediction.
Upon the results of the meeting of the SCO Agriculture Ministers a decision on establishment of permanent working group on cooperation in the agrarian sector was taken. The main function of the group will be realization of the agreements and documents in this sphere.
