A man arrested suspected of killing pensioner in Petropavlovsk

PETROPAVLOVSK. November 11. KAZINFORM — Police officers have arrested a 36-year-old man suspected of killing 79-year-old pensioner in the city of Petropavlovsk, the press service of the Internal Affairs Department of the North Kazakhstan region informs.

In one of the apartments in a high-rise residential building on Krepostnaya street has been found a dead body of the 79-year-old woman with signs of violent death.

The policemen conducted search operations and detained a 36-year-old unemployed resident of the regional center. The detainee confessed to the crime.

He explained that the old lady asked him to repair plastic window in her flat. After doing the job the man asked the pensioner to borrow him KZT 7,000 but she refused. That became the cause of the conflict. The fugitive strangled the woman with a cord from iron. After that the suspect found in the closet KZT 180,000 and left the apartment.

The detainee has been put into the detention center.
