The evening at the Astana Opera will add to the list of Ketevan Abiatari’s numerous tours: she was applauded by the audience in the halls of Germany, Italy, France, Great Britain, Poland, the USA, China and other countries. The artist was on tour in Kazakhstan thirteen years ago as part of an orchestra. The musician noted that she is happy to return to Astana and perform before the Kazakh audience as a soloist.

“For the concert at the Astana Opera, I chose Baroque music because, firstly, in the last years of studying at the Conservatorio Statale di Musica “Bruno Maderna” in Cesena, my formation as a performer was precisely in this genre, at the Renaissance and Baroque Singing Department. In addition, the foundation for further development of classical music was laid in this era, so I believe that Baroque music is important, interesting and very beautiful. For the program I chose a magnificent instrumental work – Concerto Grosso by Corelli, who was an important composer for the development of violin music, and he was also one of the founders of the creation of the form of musical works. And I will sing Vivaldi’s Motet, in this beautiful creation of an outstanding classic there is a dialogue between the solo violin and the vocalist,” Ketevan Abiatari, winner of many international competitions, said.

“I graduated from the Sarajishvili Tbilisi State Conservatory with a major in Violin Performance. As for vocals, I have been interested in singing since childhood. I sang folk songs as is often the case in Georgian families. I always dreamed of one day starting to study academic vocals professionally, and when such an opportunity arose, I set to work with zeal. In fact, it is very difficult to combine these two specialties, even if both genres belong to music. Both professions require enormous psychological and physical effort, but I love my calling and with great joy prepare programs where I perform both as a violinist and as a singer. I am looking forward to the concert in Kazakhstan, this is an exciting event for me, I feel a huge responsibility,” Ketevan Abiatari shared.

It is worth noting that the artist took part in more than 30 music festivals, and last year she made her debut in Emilio de’ Cavalieri’s opera Rappresentatione di Anima et di Corpo at the Teatro Verdi. Under her belt are collaborations with such famous orchestras as the Rossini Symphony Orchestra, the Marche and Bologna Philharmonic Orchestras, the Tyrol and the Palermo Festival Orchestras, Culture Orchestra, the CIS Symphony Orchestra, the World Youth Orchestra, the Wunderkamer Ensemble and others, to which will now be added a performance with the Astana Opera Chamber Orchestra under the baton of the Honored Worker of Kazakhstan Abzal Mukhitdin. The opera house’s principal first violin, Honored Worker of Kazakhstan Bagdat Abilkhanov, will also take the stage this evening.

The concert will begin at 6 pm.
