The foresters of the Charyn State National Nature Park spotted a rare Turkistan lynx listed in the Red Book of Kazakhstan during the planned inspection, which proves that the ecosystem and biodiversity conservation efforts are effective.

The Turkistan lynx was included in the country’s Red Book and the Red List of the International Union for Conservation of Nature.

Hunting for lynx has been prohibited since 1976.

Earlier, red-list Persian gazelles and a Pallas's cat were captured on a trail camera at the Charyn National Nature Park.
