A. Yessimov informed about increase of foreign tourists in Almaty by 137%
ALMATY. KAZINFORM - Today, Mayor of Almaty Akhmetzhan Yessimov visited the College of Tourism and Hospitality - the oldest educational institution for preparation of the specialists in this sphere, the press service of the Mayor of Almaty informs.
"The income we receive from tourism can replace the income we receive from export and the examples of some European resorts prove this theory. The issue of preparing professionals in this sphere is relevant as ever in view of the upcoming Universiade and the plans on development of the ski resorts in Almaty," A. Yessimov said.
The head of the city also informed about the increase of foreign tourists in Almaty by 137% registered in the second half of 2014. It was conditioned by the introduction of a visa-free regime with 10 more countries.
As earlier reported, development of the tourist sector in Almaty region is an instruction given by President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev.
