Abai region to build 11 schools until 2025 – governor

Abai region plans to build 11 schools for 5,700 children till 2025 under the Comfortable School programme. More than 8 billion tenge were allocated for this purpose from the National Fund, Kazinform News Agency quotes governor of the region Nurlan Urankhayev as saying at a briefing today.

According to him, construction of five schools is underway in Karagaily district, Aksuat, Vodnyi, Beskaragai villages of Semey and in Ayagoz town.

He said the region plans to build a multifunctional palace of schoolchildren, with an estimated cost at 11.4 billion tenge.

He reminded about the opening of the Shakarim High School on the ground of Shakarim University and Abay IT School on the ground of Alikhan Bokeikhanov University.

Besides, according to Urankhayev, the region is set to build 65 primary healthcare facilities until 2025 under the Rural Healthcare Modernization Programme.

Another five healthcare projects worth 100.4 billion tenge will be implemented under the Region's Comprehensive Development Plan. Among them is a 400-bed Multifunctional Hospital, a 300-bed Multifunctional Children’s Hospital, a blood center and outpatient clinics on the right and left banks of Semey city.

235 kilometers of local roads were repaired in the region this yea. 77 kilometers of roads were repaired under the Auyl – El Besigi program, the governor said.
