Abai region’s district reports 22.5% rise in cattle numbers

Cattle numbers increased 22.5% (29,300 heads) and the sheep and goat population 28.1% (33,300 heads) year-on-year in Borodulikha district, Abai region, Kazinform News Agency reports.

Abai region’s Borodulikha district has 403 active farms, significantly contributing to the economy of the region.

The total cropped area in the district reached 356,700 ha, increasing by 400 ha compared to last year. The figures show the district’s total cropped area to rise by 34,000 ha, with spring crops accounting for 20,700 ha, in the past three years.

Since 2024, the district’s agricultural output has totaled 44.6 billion tenge, including crop production – 32.1 billion tenge (65%) and cattle production – 12.4 billion tenge (35%).

As earlier reported, in 10 months of this year, Abai region’s agricultural output has exceeded 335.9 billion tenge, amid a surge in cattle production (+110.7%). The region is third in terms of the number of cattle and horses and sixth in terms of the sheep and goat population. The region’s meat and milk production rose 102.8% and 102.6%, respectively.
