Abandoned capital’s shopping mall to be completed by 2026

According to the akimat of Astana city, an investor has been secured for the unfinished shopping and entertainment center on the right bank of the city, with completion expected shortly, Kazinform News Agency reports.

The construction of the shopping and entertainment center on Respublika Avenue, which commenced in 2014, could be completed ten years later. The new investor, INVESTMENT & INNOVATION GROUP LLP, has already secured a contractor and announced the project completion date. The project is expected to commence in the third quarter of the year and will be completed in the second quarter of 2026. The shopping mall will be named “Respublika Plaza”.

Recall that the previous owner of the building was unable to complete construction of the complex due to encumbrances on bank investments. The “City Palace” (Respublika Plaza) shopping mall was unable to find a suitable investor. The original customer's plan called for a center with seven floors and a capacity of up to 7,943 visitors.
